TechPoint, with the support of Literacy Capital, has today announced the acquisition of Golledge Electronics, Ltd (“Golledge”), one of the leading global suppliers of frequency components.
The strategic acquisition sees TechPoint widen their product offering and increase technical support capability at the early product development phase.
Founded in 1990, by Jonathan Golledge and his father, Peter, Somerset-based Golledge is one of the market leaders in the global supply of frequency control products. Golledge have benefitted from significant growth in recent years, with their wide range of frequency control products approved in some of the world’s largest manufacturing businesses.
Dan Croft, Executive Chairman of TechPoint, said: “the addition of Golledge represents an excellent strategic fit to our existing businesses, aligning seamlessly with the groups Centre of Excellence strategy. This partnership extends our technical knowledge into a new product category, benefitting existing customers and enabling TechPoint to support a wider base of engineers earlier in the design process.”
Jonathan Golledge, MD at Golledge, will take up a new role as Non-executive Director of Golledge, using his vast experience to add valuable input to both existing Golledge customers and new Group customers.
“We are delighted that this new partnership will maintain the strength and pedigree of the Golledge brand, known and respected throughout the electronics industry for over 30 years. Joining forces with TechPoint increases our depth and capabilities within the UK, as well as providing extra scale and resource to further extend our services to customers in all market segments across the globe.”
